GE=General Election
The upcoming GE is expected to be more colourful and interesting that its predecessors. Thanks to the Internet and better broadband services ('Thanks' a lot TM!), we now have access to more information and public opinions than yesterday. Say bye bye to the lame government-controlled/linked newspapers and tv stations, they are really in a state beyond rescue.
This time, I believe they are more Malaysians who are now aware that they have been short-changed all this while by the present government, in many ways. Examples including privatization failures, corporate bail-outs, education opportunities, healthcare, public safety, hopeless local councils and freedom of information. However, we should be aware that there are many more Malaysians who are not aware, or just do not bother to think about it ('tidak apa' culture).
For those who are not aware, we cannot really blame them. Either they may not have access to alternative information, or they are fed all this while with government information. And for those who just do not bother, that is a real challenge. Sometimes, these people won't even bother to go to the pooling stations during the GE. This is the phrase usually mentioned: "One vote won't make a difference one mah...". I would reply: "Bodoh-lah this people".
The present administration has been proven to be hopeless. Put the IDR or NCER aside. Just take one example of the things they promised in the last GE - to wipe out corruption. Looks like corruption is now more rampant, and nothing concrete is being done. Got-lah, ACA opened a file for investigation, passed it to the AG, and the AG will then announce "NO CASE". Buat tayang only. Obviously they are protecting each other - you rub my back, then I rub your back.
Sometimes, I just feel sad that our nation is being robbed in daylight. We obviously deserve much bettter than this. We are being led by a bunch of people who dare to call themselves leaders (pemimpin). To me, they are more like pirates. Turn on the television, and take a look at the way some of them speak. Rubbish, totally rubbish, inmature, and so damn lan-si (arrogant). These are the kind of 'leaders' we chose to represent us in the Parliament? 'Undilah dengan lebih bijak, tuan-tuan dan puan-puan'. You are voting for your children's future, and therefore make no mistakes anymore.
